Thank you for taking the time to visit my website!
Since I was in fifth grade I have dreamed of becoming a teacher. Of course, originally, I wanted to be a P.E teacher! When I started college I thought I wanted to be a Math major, but right away I could tell something was missing. In my second year as an undergraduate I enrolled in my first Education course. The course required me to volunteer time at a local first grade classroom, and this is when I realized yet again, that teaching was for me. I have come to fully enjoy the fast pace environment of a young classroom, the big smiling faces of excited students, and the creativity involved in teaching a variety of diverse individuals. Throughout the past four years I have immersed myself in many areas of Education; taking in classroom management techniques, planning lessons, and communicating with parents and administrators. I am very excited to begin my career as a teacher in 2014. I cannot wait to have my own classroom and some students to call my own.
I hope to be the kind of teacher who:
Is Caring
Creates a warm and welcoming classroom-community
Encompass many teaching techniques
Utilizes all of my resources for the benefit of my students
Teaches a spiral curriculum
Has students who leave as self-sufficient individuals, who still retain eager curiosity about the world around them.
Continually seeks professional development opportunities to enhance my craft as a teacher
