Character Scrapbook is a website students can use after they read a book to analyze the characters in their book. It leads you through describing the characters attributes, things they accomplished, things that describe them, and facts you know about them. When you are done you can print their character scrapbook and display them around the room. Read.Write.Think is a website that has resources for teachers such as Professional Development, Classroom Resources, Community Stories, and Parents/After school Resources. One reason I highly recommend this site is for the example it gives in Social Studies. Every month it highlights a different culture and gives resources for the classroom. It also has resources in Spanish!! If you are looking for Social Studies or Spanish resources check out this site. Reading Graphic Organizers is a website with a list of graphic organizers that are useful for comparing and contrasting stories, authors stories, and many more. I recommend using this site when searching for graphic organizers to use in your next lesson plans. Book Source & Book Wizard are two websites I plan on using when I organize my first classroom library. Book wizard helps you easily organize books by their level. This could be DRA, Guided Reading, or Lexile. Book source I am able to create an inventory of my books and have students check books in and out. Wonderopolis is an educational link to videos that can be used in the classroom that are appropriate. Search through the website to find videos that will support the major concepts you are teaching about. For example: Is The Heart Really In The Shape Of A Heart? How Long Would It Take To Fly To The Moon? and many more. Go explore...... |
Below is a video recording of me reading one of my favorite children's books. I would use this book as a mentor text when teaching sequencing words. Then follow up with how we can use this in our own writing. I also think it's a pretty funny book! Please enjoy!
